Banganga

It is the first sacred place where Mata Vaishno Devi created a river by firing an arrow. Many pilgrims make a symbolic bath in the river for a purification of the soul.

Charan Paduka

It is a rock with footprints of Mata. It stands as evidence of her stopping in her path. Many pilgrims came here to touch the holy footprints and pray.

Ardhkuwari (Garbha Joon Cave)

It is a cave of 40 ft. It is believed that Mata used to meditate here for 9 months. The process of crawling through the cave is an allegory of rebirth and devotion.

Bhawan (Main Shrine)

Registration: The First thing is to register yourself. Get a biometric slip (Register online or at the base Katra). However, we will arrange it for you.
Trekking Route (13.5km Katra to Bhawan): Complete trekking route to reach the main Bhawan or temple. You can trek by:
  • Foot: 5-7 hours (try to get an early start to beat the crowd).
  • Palki/Doli: Renting the palki/doli. It costs around 2500 to 4000 rupees. Perfect for older adults and kids.
  • Helicopter: An 8-minute trip by helicopter between Sanjhihcat and Bhawan (Book in advance).
Security Check & Deposit Counter: For security check, you need to deposit the phones, bags, and shoes.
Darshan Queue: Now, forward to the darshan queue.
  • General Line: It is free but takes about 2–4 hours, depending on the crowd.
  • VIP Pass: It is a faster entry. It costs around 500–1000 per head.
Inside the Holy Cave: When you reach inside the holy cave, do not stop. It is suggested to move or walk continuously for a smooth darshan. Reach to 3 Pindis Darshan. Provide prayer to Maha Kali, Lakshmi and Saraswati.
Post-Darshan Rituals: Once you come out after darshan, you can collect Charan Ganga Jal. Must visit the Bhairavnath Temple. It will complete your yatra.
